Future production in township 2n,3w sections 8, 3, and 10 Garvin County

Does anyone have information on planned drilling in any of the above referenced sections? I have been informed that Triad Oil may be planning on Section 8, but want to know more about sections 3 and 10.

A 640 acre pooling order was issued last week for section 8. It looks like quite a bit going on in section 9 (application wise) as well. I don't see anything in 3 and 10 yet.

I'd guess you will be seeing a permit issued on section 8 soon.

Rick, any new information on section 8? Also, what do you thing production might be in sections 3 and 10 of 2n,3w in Garvin? New field is planning to start a well right away for the Woodford shale. Some of their wells a couple of sections nw of me have been big…like 600-800 bpod. Give me your thoughts. Thanks, Rex

There was a permit issued for a vertical well (Floyd 1-8) into the Springer Sands by Triad on 11/26/2012 against spacing order 578700. The spacing order lists the Woodford @ 11,700’, the pooling order does not go that deep, and the permit lists a depth of 10,100’. Links below to the documents.

It would take a geologist with some data, but from the map I have seen the Woodford is not quite as thick as just west of there. Regardless I would guess a Woodford horizontal would do as fairly good compared to the wells you are talking about. Still just guessing, it looks like Triad is drilling to hold production on their leases. Many are just over 2 years old. Possibly you’ll see a partnering with someone else for a Woodford play in the future.

Keep in mind I’m an amateur at this so don’t bank on it.

On 3 and 10. Newfield has spacing. Location exceptions, and pooling applications for both as part of a multi section horizontal. These were entered 11/06/2012. It looks like it is going to be drilled from 15-2N-3W with production from 10 and 3.

Rick, thanks for your input…I talked with the land man a couple days ago…he said Conoco/Phillips has come forward to delay drilling on 3 and 10, but thought it would be settled on Jan. 9 by a judge. Section 8 sounds confusing…have a nice Christmas. Rex
