My wife and I have recently inherited land and mineral rights in Southeast Ohio. There are some wells currently producing and providing us royalties. We are new to this industry and would welcome any guidance. Is there a way to entice or encourage additional or future drilling by energy companies, or do they just drill according to their own internal research and decisions?
Welcome to the forum! Parts of Ohio are quite active. The best place to get guidance is from the state oil and gas commission information and from the National Association of Royalty Owners. www.naro-us.org. They have a very active Eastern Chapter which includes experts in Ohio. The new president of the chapter is a mineral friendly oil and gas attorney. They have an introductory membership for a year which gets you access to mineral info, webinars, notice of conventions, etc.
