What information can a mineral/royalty owner extract from a form 1002A?

I would appreciate any and all discussion. Thank you.

  1. When the well started drilling (which is not the same as when the well was commenced under the lease);
  2. Date of first production;
  3. Total depth drilled;
  4. Completed formations;
  5. Length of lateral;
  6. Size of spacing unit.
  7. Operator of well.

Thank you. What does the “test” information tell us? How can we interpret it? Is it a “good”, “mediocre”, or “poor” producer? How do we know? And what does the information about “choke” tell us?
