First Purchaser - Operator - My Royalty

I have a small owner interest in a lease in Ward County. Company A is the operator. Company B is the purchaser of the lease and handles the division orders and revenue disbursements to the interest owners. I returned a signed division order to Company B in 8/2019. Under payments of the DO is says that payments of less than $50 will be accrued until the total equals $50 or more, or the 4th quarter of each year, whichever occurs first. I never received any payments from them. The address on my DO is correct. In August of 2022 I received another division order from a new purchaser. I called company B to find out why I had never received any payments from them. They said the amount was too small to issue a check and that my accrued money had been returned to the operator. I asked the new purchaser if my money had been given to them to accrue in my account with them. They said no. I called the operator numerous times and emailed to ask them where my money was and got no response. The operator is still the same from 2019. My question is, does the operator who now has my money just get to keep it since Company B deemed it too small to issue a check? I have 4 other family members in the same boat.

First step is to send a certified letter return receipt to all three parties requesting your payment. Include a copy of your division order. My understanding is that the operator is ultimately responsible. They do not get to “keep” your funds.
