Wouldn’t the land owner (of the drill pad) be included in the units Kenobi & Alfaro? At least the footprint of the pad? After all, it will be utilized for drilling, fracking, and production for those two units from the Kocian pad, if they do indeed go thru with them. Wasn’t that a similar scenario that happened to the Blackshear pad? I would hope there is some compensatory awards to the pad owner and/or the underlying mineral interest owner.
The Kocian tract will be included in the Kenobi and Alfaro units. Alfaro would only be about 4-6 aces but the Kenobi could be up to 20 acres…this is by looking at the new maps and unit lines drawn through the Kocian tract.
And in case anyone was wondering how they added the Kocian tract to Bruhn, even though the Bruhn unit was already maxed at 1280 acres…it was all in the royalty calculation only…no one was pulled from the unit to make it back to 1280. so what ever the mineral interest someone had it was divided by 1280 to get their mineral interest.
so about 1350 acres were processed instead of 1280 at a loss for EOG of about 1.5%. so instead of EOG paying 22% in total mineral interest to royalty owners they are paying almost 23.5% overall on this unit. On 10 million gross revenue that would only cost 150 thousand to EOG for extra royalties paid. I had huge concerns with this so EOG had to explain this to me a couple of times before I completely understood…and that is what we are getting paid.
Well MR_ML saying that any of the Kocian lease is in Kenobi or Alfaro would be different than EOG told me directly. Since we had to have 100% of all acres in we didn’t chance them doing Kenobi and Alfaro. They couldn’t guarantee they’d do the last 2 wells. We went all in on Bruhn and Rawlins rather than take an offer from them and have partial. By the way, that paid off as the first 3 months paid more than their offer. Between the 4 wells we had to have all acres in and decided not to chance it. Since well heads are on our rights they had to give us all acres and we decided to do it that way.
You made the right decision, but they had to make you whole with being in Bruhn/Rawlins 100%…as per your lease contract. They did you no favors. But, if they drill Kenobi and Alfaro on the same pad on the Kocian property, I guarantee you, that you will be in those units…however only several acres…unless they make a new pad to your east across Cr 194.
Thanks for posting these monthly production numbers as you have been doing. I hope someone is plotting this info on a map of the wells - thinking it will show the “trends” pretty clearly.
Of course, this is assuming that all the Hz laterals are in the same landing zone / strat interval - would expect some differences between target intervals in this play overall. Lots of complexity geologically that is then complicated by thermal maturity variability across the area.
I use to call the Worthington pad CR 312 pad before it was built, then I started calling it CR 306 after I saw where the entrance was made to it…I now call it the Worthington pad.
So, now I call the CR 312 pad the NEW one they built about 6 weeks ago on CR 312…interesting to see how this new pad does not line up with Leakey/Gibson connection on north end. Permits will tell the tale…
I know they are piped and flowing, heard a rumor they locked in some portion of the spud at 90 but only a rumor. That’s positive that they are looking at exploring and leasing more in the area.
I haven’t seen anything on RRC yet, not sure how often they are updating.
@Mr_T
There are the 4 Flatonia North A wells and the 3 Flatonia North B wells. According to the FracFocus disclosure registry, those 7 new wells by Rosewood Resources were all fracked between the end of July and the middle of August. I believe the drill site for the A wells is on Barrium Lane not far from the Union Pacific railroad and FM 154.The drill site for the B wells is on Stryk Road just east of 609 and parallel to I-10. I don’t know the status of pipelines, etc. or if there’s any production yet.
Would you be willing to share where you’re pulling the monthly production figures from? Looks like you’re getting this info somewhere before its posted on the RRC.
