This 2011 publication from AAPG addresses a lot of the big picture issues associated with the San Marcos Arch as to the Buda, Eagle Ford and Austin Chalk intervals.
The Stuart City reef trend shown here = the Sligo Reef / Shelf trend
The Llano Uplift (technically in the Hill Country) is tied to and part of the major structural high / positive feature that the San Marcos Arch is tied to.
4 wells permitted yesterday in Fayette county…all by Tidal. 1 is on the existing Kainer unit, the other 3 are on a new Kainer B unit. This is just 1/2 mile NE of Flatonia. I thought this was going to be on the pad next to I-10, but by the plats it is not….so I guess that pad will be done by Rosewood as someone had previously reported.
It will be interesting to see where the land their lateral in these new wells. Have to wait on final directional surveys to determine whether it is Eagle Ford or Austin Chalk
Lots of good information here, thank you for posting. I don’t totally comprehend all of the information but after reading it, it has reduced some of my optimism for more drilling North of Pecan Pad. We must however remain being hopeful for the area.
All due respect, but are you sure you’re in the right pew? If you are, will you please elaborate? I see Nimtex address is in Farwell which is not very close to Fayette or Lavaca counties. Thanks.
Front month Nymex Natural Gas Futures (Jan) traded above $5.00 for the first time since 2022. Bullish momentum due to ongoing December cold and December forecasts.
Washington
I was told during the drilling part that they would frack w/natural gas. I thought somebody’s crazy.. but finally figured it out. They are using turbines to make electricity to use electric motors in fracking.. Look up environmental well services.
Yes. I checked the caller on LinkedIn and he’s a co-founder of NIMTEX in DFW and my interests are near Flatonia. Called me and my wife separately offering to purchase nma for pennies.
Milton: Certainly more efficient than burning a bunch of diesel. Makes sense. Please let us know the frac company when you can.
RRigmover: Nimtex may be interesting. To do business in Texas you’re supposed to register with the State Comptroller. At least part of the reason is to prevent multiple companies using the same name. I double checked and Nimtex Energy LLC does business in Farwell, about three steps from New Mexico.
But as you said, LinkedIn shows Nimtex Energy LLC as based in FTW. This kind of stuff is interesting to me but I’m sure there’s a good explanation that I’m too lazy to track down.
Good Morning. I have just now joined this forum. I have a lease with Redhawk and my property is located in Moravia off 229. Would I be in the pool that you are talking about?
By “pool”, are you meaning the subsurface formation that Redhawk and EOG are drilling in this area?
If yes, I would say that you are in this trend / pool - but the question will be when and if Redhawk or EOG or any other operator elects to drill in your area.
All tied to the economics of drilling these $7-$8 million wells and the oil & gas prices that received for any production
It is possible that you may already be in a unit for a permitted or drilled well. Only way to know this is to locate your interests versus permitted well information.
If you are located in an active unit where production has been established, you will be contacted about details concerning production and your respective royalty payments.
Not sure if this any interest to the Fayette folks, but EOG just marked 4 wells for 4 units on the corner of County Road 195 and County Road 194 Lavaca county. Permits will be out shortly…(.I had mentioned this a couple of months ago as far as pad site)…
Also EOG requested some major road changes to CR 195 to Lavaca county officials that is in their next meeting 12/9.
This just leaves EOG with 4 more units….the 2 units between Francis pad and Maddox pad…and 2 more units north of these 4 units I just mentioned that goes up and includes the Lavaca river.
Everything north of Lavaca River is redhawk. Redhawk has the 2 units that attach to the southern side of the Blackshear pad. Then there would be 2 southern units attached to the Pecan pad….and I believe there are 4-6 units between the Pecan pad and Blackshear pad…almost certain its 4.
then all we have left is the northern units (that are west of this activity)along side FM 1295 (east side)…these would most likely be EF wells…but these leases could also be sold off…Modern is drilling right now.
Always a possibility of some bolt-on units for EOG to the existing proposed units….
and…we still have the units north of Pecan pad which they are working to get them together….
At this time it is all about securing 1 well per unit as I was told to “Lock them In “…they do not want to pay the $20 million in options…could drill 2 wells for that !!
Washington Fracking company evolution well services.
Sand trucks should be finished tonight are Saturday. That sand going in hole about as fast as they bring it. Was told about 8 trucks per silo. about 80 plus trucks a day for those 6 silos. They must be fracking and plugging waiting for that tubing trailer to drill out plugs.
The silos should be leaving heading to Wied Tx.
I hear that Evolution Well Services is under long term contract with EOG so they must be competent.
Re north in Fayette County. I believe that most of the Acaval leases expire their primary term about a year before the Redhawk and KEW leases. Probably starting sometime next summer.
