EmKey Energy,LLC has opened a $10million natural gas processing plant in Union City,Pa.
EmKey continues to build infrastructure and anticipates local distribution to increase.
Empire Energy USA based in NY owns many wells in NY Pennsylvania and the talk is that they
may start producing Upper Devonian wells in the not too distant future.
The Adameck#1 test well is still on hold because of a dispute between the operator and the owner of the well. Over 2000 acres of nearby land has been leased but no signs of activity can be reported. It seems that SLC Energy has permitted a well in Albion but no signs of activity is known.
Things seem to be very quiet in Erie County. The Upper Devonian strata, Rhinestreet Shale inparticular may be the next prolific area to be explored in Erie County. It is not very deep, less expense to drill, fairly permeable and can be horizontally drilled with natural fracking
and even in areas where the depth is shallow may prove to be productive.
The talk is that the Point Pleasant does not show up in Erie County and that the Utica may not be very mature. Looks like the landowners in Erie County may have to wait until the more prolific areas peak or that newer technology makes our area more productive.
Companies like EmKey Energy of Erie, Pa. is investing and continues to invest large amounts of dollars both in infrastructure and processing plants, they obviously have confidence that production will increase but information seems to be proprietory and not much is public.
