Just received a check for a small dollar amount from them all it says is to preserve the lease. Do not understand, gives no dates for lease or anything. Can anyone give me some insight?
If this is the first check in a while they are wanting to keep the lease without guarantees.
My mom passed and left us with some small gas royalties. Then this came in the mail. Not sure what it means at all. What does lease without guarantees mean?
Your lease should define how long they can hold the lease on shut-in payments. Probably 2 years.
Couldn’t find anything in paperwork regarding the lease agreement. Appears to have been through up to three different company names appearing in the past same as this last one. Just a check attached to a paper with the same information.
Be careful. By cashing the check you may perpetuate a lease that otherwise might be expired.
Original lease should be on file with County Clerk.
Thanks I will check there.
