Assuming your interest is in Eddy County, I would suggest you find an oil & gas lawyer in New Mexico. Carlsbad is a relatively small city, so the attorney population may be small and may not be specialized in oil & gas. IMHO, it is more important to find an attorney who spends much of his/her time doing oil and gas than someone who is in Eddy county. If your desire is to stay geographically close, you can always go an attorney in Roswell.
