Greetings; Jetta wants a permanent easement for a water line in Ward County 183 and is offering $120 a rod. I'm wondering how that figure compares to other offers. Thanks much.

How large a line is it (nominal pipeline diameter)?

Do they claim eminent domain?

They're talking 20-inch line and no eminent domain.

Make sure contract doesn't say line or lines.

I have been regularly getting $200 or more for one water line in that area, including Jetta. They scream bloody murder, but they don't have any choice.

The last water line that I negotiated in West Texas was in Reeves County and it was 900 per rod, 10 year renewal term with CPI index and they paid my fee. No above ground installations.
