Duchesne County Utah - Spudding My Lease Today

Spuding today I have 1/6 interest in an oil play on 256 acres. Can anyone tell me what that means in dollars at $78 crude to me.

It depends on your royalty percentage. Let’s say it’s 20%. Before any costs are taken out I think you’d get $2.60/barrel.

Man thats a bummer hoping to retire  guess not for awhile. thank you.

Per barrel it’s not a lot, but if production is good, it can add up in a hurry. It might very well be $10,000 or more per month–nothing to sneeze at.

Do you still have active leases in Duchesne County? We have some existing wells in this county, but I'm being approached by an energy company for leasing 640 acres at $200 an acre with 1/6 of the production. I'm trying to figure out what a good lease would be. Any info you have would be great. Thanks.

Hi. I just renewed my lease there at $250 an acre and 3/16th royalty. They've yet to drill, but given the activity in the area I beleive this time they may. I was little confused by the above question. When you speak of royalty percentage isn't that the same as the 3/16th, or 1/8th royalty...whatever?

Slee, how many acres are you going to lease? Is the $250 per acre a one-time up front payment?
