I did a three year oil and gas lease for $500 with Dublin Land Company. I was never paid for the lease and I haven’t been able to get in tough with the company to find out why I never got paid and what is going on with the lease.
Is there away I can find out about the lease?

I am sorry you never saw the payment on the lease. It is unwise to hand over a lease without getting paid that day. Many mineral owners will sign and notarize the lease and let a third party such as bank, attorney or accountant hold the lease until the payment is in the bank. Then the lease will be turned over. Many will make a copy of the signed lease and mark the copy in black marker on every page, especially on the signature page with COPY DO NOT FILE and send to the agent as a good faith gesture which the title is being run.
You could look on www.okcountyrecords.com to see if you lease was ever filed. How long ago did you sign it?
Exxon drilled the Eden 3-24H in 2008. Are you getting paid on it? Wondering if you were even open to lease if after that. Might have been pooled.
I did make a copy of the lease and got it notarized. I have tried calling the company several times but all I got was answering machine. They did return my calls.
The lease is dated 12/04/2024
The section is 24-3S-IE Carter County
Are you getting paid on the Eden well?
No, I am not getting paid
on the Eden well.
Did you look up your name on www.okcountyrecords.com to see if the lease was actually filed?
Did you own the minerals back in 2008 when the Eden was drilled? If so, then contact XTO’s owner relations department. If not, and an ancestor owned it, there may be funds in suspense or at the treasurer’s office for it. The owner relations department may be able to help with that part. Be ready with your ancestor’s name and your name and ask if you are in pay status. They may not have been able to find you or the ancestor back then.
