Drl?

I have 2 wells that came off “confidential” in December. The classification immediately went to “DRL.” I am assuming this means “drilling”?

The wells are at Township 150 North, Range 99 West, Section 4, permit numbers 25065 and 25066. There are 4 other permits with rigs assigned, but still in “confidential” status.

My question is what does “DRL” indicate? At this time, there has been production since October. Any information about the use, duration, etc. of this code will be appreciated.

I sent another comment, but not sure if it went through. This could be a duplicate, although not worded the same. Thank you, Deloris Bohnsack.

I own property in Alabama. I called and left a message with an oil company weeks ago. Today they called me and offered to lease my property provided I allow his geologist and team to conduct an evaluation of my mineral rights.

Deloris:

I am thinking that the term “DRL” is used when the well is still undergoing final completion or when downhole work is still being conducted. Work such as fracking, etc.

That seems to be the consensus. I was just confused that they were still drilling a well that was producing. I didn’t think the two were compatible.

This is certainly a learning process. This forum is worth its weight in gold.

Thank you so much.
