Drilling under interstate 70

I was told my minerals have little to no value as they abut I-70 and drilling isn’t/hasn’t been done through there so I’m in a dead zone. Is this true?

My cousin tells me EQT has stopped making his lease payments and he can’t seem to reach them, that they may have pulled out… we don’t know for sure what is going on.

You can drill under I-70. Look at the area near Cambridge, Ohio. A $10,000 fee to the state for the paperwork, etc.

General answer is no. State law changed in the 60s. Most acquisitions by the state were “in fee” after that point and not just a right-of-way over lands privately owned. State currently prohibits drilling under interstate highways. Current drilling units, proposed and actual, typically abut the state-owned property to the north and south.
