Drilling permits in Johnson county TX

For the last 5 years there have been o drilling permits issued in johnson county. In the last 6 months Sage Natural Resources issued 18 permits for barnett shale wells around Alvarado. What is the spacing for this area? With gas at $8.75, it appears it is a new ball game and they want every bit of the dry gas. XTO also just sold there barnett holdings. Is the development of the barnett fixing to come back- drilling on every 25 acres- lots of locations available

Looks like the spacing on the wells Sage has permitted range from 320’, which may be the minimum allowed by the field rules, up to 700’. The 18 wells you mentioned were permitted in four existing units where Titan had drilled single wells in 2011. They are still producing and Sage took over as operator in 2018. It looks like they plan to add 4-5 additional wells to each unit that will be drilled from single existing pads in each of those units. The unit sizes range from 194 to 566 acres.

The thing that surprised me was the original wells Titan drilled in those units where Sage is now planning to drill offsets only made 1 to 2 BCF over their first 10+ years of production.
