Drilling or leasing

Does anyone know how I can find out current drilling and leasing in Ellis County Oklahoma? Thank you!

You can find leases for Ellis on www.okcountyrecords.com. It is free to look and costs a small fee to print.

You can find permits on the Well records site of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. If it is a horizontal well, the surface location may not be on your acreage, so search nearby.

Thank you so much! This helps!

If you are interested in a particular area, then post your section, township and range and the forum folks can usually help.

My family owns the mineral rights on property in Ellis County, Oklahoma. There is no current lease of the mineral rights. Is it recommended that we be exploring opportunities to lease the mineral rights at this time?

Leasing depends upon the geology and what is economic to drill. The Cherokee in southern Ellis is the hot spot right now. If you want to share your township, range and section, we can help with the activity and leasing near you. If your name, address and title information are properly filed in the Ellis county courthouse, then leasing agents will find you if they are interested.

Our mineral rights are located in Section Twenty (20), Township Twenty-four (24) North, Range Twenty-three (23). It looks like this is property is located in northern Ellis County, away from the Cherokee hot spot in the south. Any comments you may have are appreciated. Thanks for your time.

You are north of the Cherokee play. More in the Morrow play. If landmen want to find you, they will. There are two plugged and abandoned wells on the far west side of your section. I do not see any leasing in that township in the last 35 months.

I own minerals in Sec. 19-20N-23W and Sec. 11-23N-25W and I’m experiencing the same issues. Not much interest.
