Drake recorded 30 lease memos covering about 600 acres in Anderson County this afternoon. The big news is their location…Drake seems to be extending its lease area to the east. The new lease area is south of Slocum, running from Elkhart eastward to Mound City. This the first Expand/Mitsui leasing into southeastern Anderson County.
How far to the east and north will Expand go from here?
Expand’s internal land department apparently dropped the ball with their supervision of their lease brokers letting Mitsui and mineral buyers “bust their blocks”.
Interesting observation about this leasing activity and this trend so far.
The “active” part of the trend from the Franklin area of Robertson County to SW Anderson County extends for about 60 miles.
With this new leasing in SE Anderson County, one is only about 50 miles from the eastern part of the Haynesville Shale HZ play Nacogdoches County (Aethon Core area).
