Does anyone know who is leasing in this area of Atascosa County?

This is my first time to “ask” a question, as I’m always on the answering end. I believe this is the proper place for a leasing question. Here goes…

Yesterday I contacted EOG to ask why they haven’t contacted us to lease our minerals. The following is the legal description that is in our Mineral Lease, as recorded and on file in Atascosa County, Texas - Vol 475, Pg 126-128:

One Hundred Eight and one-half (108 1/2) acres of land, more or less, being a part of the J. A. Navarro 4 League Grant, and part of the subdivision of said Grant, in the name of Leon Alcosta, situated on Live Oak Creek, about twelve miles West from Pleasanton, Texas, in Atascosa County, Texas, being the same property described in a certain release from Pat Stevens, Receiver, dated June 12, 1917, and recorded in Volume 70, Page 637 of the Deed records of Atascosa County, Texas.

EOG’s REPLY: “Abstract 9 (or A-9) is associated with the J A Navarro Survey in Atascosa County. Appears to be situated just west of Hwy 16 and north of Hwy 173. This particular survey is about 10 miles from our area of operation. I have no idea who, company wise, would be leasing in this survey.”

My question: Does anyone know who might be leasing in this area?

Thank you.

Pat

Just west / northwest of Pleasanton, right? If so, the Eagle Ford is very thin and shallow/immature in this area. Don’t see any EF-horizontal wells drilled anywhere nearby; areas closer than this (to the sweet spots) have proved to be uneconomic (there’s oil, but not enough to pay off drilling/fracking costs).

Don’t think the Pearsall is panning out either.

I would certainly hold on to the minerals, but you might be on hold a long time for some other breakthroughs or discoveries.

Thank you for the detailed information.
