Coterra just emailed us back to tell us that 6 upcoming wells go through our interests.
But when I look at the acreage and well plats on OCD permitting website, for each of the APIs they listed, it looks like they don’t go through our interests.
I’m really hoping they do, but if they don’t I want to know now.
If our interests are in:
Eddy County
Township 25 South / Range 28 East.
Section 11: SENE (H)
Section 12: SWNW, NWSW (E, L)
And the acreage listed on the OCD permitting website is listed as:
640
11-25S-28E Units: C D E F K L M N
14-25S-28E Units: C D E F K L M N
And the well plat shown in the well files is (the green square is unit H, where our interests are):
There are two sets of wells there. Coterra is onsite with a rig drilling the western set of wells. (Riverbend). Looks like Mewbourne has another set of permits on the east half called the HOSS 2/11 Fed Com wells. Five of them.
Coterra has another set of Riverbend wells in section 12, so that might be your other ones from them. . They are called Riverbend 12-13 Federal Com. The surface location is in sec 1 and the wells go south.
I’m still not really clear though, as I don’t know enough to understand the replies.
Does it indeed look like those new Coterra wells could go through our interests? (Township 25 South / Range 28 East, Section 11: SENE (H), Section 12: SWNW & NESW (E, L))
Specifically I’m talking about these 6 wells, which the Coterra landman said went through our interests, but which when looking them up don’t seem to, to me:
How strange… when I look them up on OCD permitting site (OCD Permitting), I only see them going through Section 11… I’m hoping I’m wrong and that they really do go through our interests. That would be great!
Thanks M Barnes. I did finally figure that out, but I was really hoping that all of these new Coterra wells also went through our Sections, as the landman emailed us to say they did. But on further investigation it looks to me like they don’t. But I hope to be proven wrong somehow!
If they spaced at the whole 640, then they might. I did not check that part. Given that a different company has the eastern wells, just assumed they only have the west half spaced.
