I received a Division Order for a property in Lea County from Crockett as the operator when we signed our lease with Elite. When asked to close the title loop I was given assignments providing it to Vader, who is developing the property. Am I weird to think that the operator needs to provide me somethging to prove that (a) they can be on my property and (b) they have the legal authority to obtain a DO. Any thoughts? Thx!
The well operator or first purchase is the party that will send out DOs. Apparently your lessee is not the operator and in the lease you more than likely granted them the right to assign or sell the lease. As far as providing you something to satisfy your thoughts, dig into the county records and you will more than likely find your answers. If it were me, I would sign the DO, send in and get paid.
