They must have a dozen on file from me. Why do they need one for every hole they make?
Many companies will not send new division orders for new wells in a single unit where the DOI is identical. Others want you to confirm the decimal and that you still own the minerals and have not sold all or a portion. All oil companies will send a division order where a new well includes different acreage or depths outside an existing unit. Where there is a transfer of well operations or leasehold ownership, the new assignee may send new division orders rather than relying on the prior division orders. It can be very helpful for your own records to keep track of all the wells and your lessees and to make sure your DOI is correct so you are properly paid.
