Division Orders and Overriding Royalties

Good Afternoon All.

I have several division orders and also some overriding royalties. Some as late as 1980's. I was told what overriding royalties were, but I promptly forgot after leaving the forum. Now I don't know what division orders are and their purpose. Can anyone help me? I hate to keep asking the same people. It surely would become aggravating after a while. lol : )
