Division order

Last fall I was approached by a landman at Ted Walters and associates regarding some mineral rights that i own. I signed a lease and received a bonus check.

I was told a division order would follow. Im not sure how to even find out if the area has been drilled ect and or if a division order will be coming.

It's not exactly a very clear picture that you've painted, however, you can obtain somewhat of an overview via the Railroad Commission's GIS Map. Looking over the map, there appears to be several permitted locations in the Abstract that you've referenced. However, looking over the plats that the respective operators have filed with the Commission, it doesn't specifically list your family's name/surname explicitly. So unless there's a way to do some further due diligence online, we'd need to know who the operator/lessee of your current lease is, and see if they've filed or started production on the property. Do you know if Ted Walters took the lease themselves, or were the brokers/agents for a specific client? It should say on your lease who the lessee is when you signed, and from there, a search can be made as to whether it's been assigned, or if the original lessee is indeed the current applicant/operator of the future well.

BP American production co is the lessee. I think Ted Walters was a broker. I’ would be happy to email you a copy of what I have.

Sure, I'd be glad to help you any way I can.
