Distance

If there was a few gas wells on the same abstract that you own 10 acres of mineral rights on. What is the distance that the gas well needs to be in order for you to get royalties from them too?

Joe:

Your acreage would need to be within the spacing unit of the well(s).

Since you are in Texas, there is not a distance requirement. It is a lease issue. If you are not leased, there is no assurance that you will ever see any production dollars unless you are under the drillsite. If you are leased, then the question is are you under the drillsite or in the pooled unit.

It's pretty complicated to many people. The above information is only for Texas properties.

Texas does not have equitable pooling.

Thank you for your reply.

I also have another question.I live in Kansas and I'm not familiar with mineral rights. I do have a 3 year lease. This is all new to me and Im just trying to get a better understanding.

In the end of April of this year, I contacted my landman's company and talked to the receptionist she sounded hesitant over the phone when I asked her for an update because I haven't heard from anyone. She said that they were going to drill soon. I then talked to my land man and he said that they were preparing the road and concrete for the drill site. I left that alone for a couple weeks. I tried to contact my landman again and he never responded. So I contact the receptionist that spoke to earlier and she replied that she couldn't talk to me and to contact texas railroad commission. I did contact trr and they told me that I will need to get an api or a permit # and they would be able to help me. I then tried to get a hold of my landman for that info. Bottom line is that in the 2 weeks of getting the road and concrete prepared i spoke to my landman he then stated that the road and everything is complete and the permit was approved and is currently waiting on a rig( it was like pulling teeth for that information). Since then I did my own research and found out my permit and api and now im not getting any response from any of them. I know that the land man don't work for me they work for the operators. If they are not contacting me should I contact the operator?
