Other than possibly diluting your mineral holdings due to incomplete multi spacing, it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
You will soon see center section pads to hold minerals.

Tom, I'm not doubting you, just wondering what the reasoning is.
Tom and Michael, I think we will begin to see up to 4 sections HBP from one pad. This link shows a recent Location Exception application for 3 sections from the pad in Sec. 19. http://imaging.occeweb.com/AP/CaseFiles/03078556.pdf

That link Wesley posted shows what they are doing around here. One pad & 4 sections producing. Someone at corporation commission said they are required to use 640 acre spacing for horizontal wells.
As a mineral and surface owner, I like seeing the pad for all 4 on a different section than mine.
