Hi I have been researching the pros and cons of investing in the drilling of an oil well. I am interested in investing in areas with a good success rate and higher probability of getting a return on my investment. I’m not interested in wildcat drilling. I’m thinking the right way to go about it is to find a company that is drilling a well that looks promising and see if they will let me invest in it. Do any of you have experience in this area? I would like to hear your success stories, failure stories, and your advice. Thanks
Elmer,
I wrote an article on this very question because I've had so many people ask me about this topic over the years. Here is a link to it:

I think you'll find this very informative. Feel free to share it with others. It's located on www.Mineralweb.com, a site dedicated to quality education for mineral and royalty owners.
Thanks Kenny for the great info. Is there any other reading material you would recommend for someone like me? Books, newsletters, etc?
Hello Elmer, You have asked a good question investing in oil wells - I know since I'm an oil and gas auditor.
