Determine status of old mineral rights

When my Mother passed away a few years ago, I inherited some mineral rights in North Dakota. I have no idea where that info package is, but would sure like to find out some general info, like whether or not they're re-starting fracking anywhere. How would I go about checking on that? Do they just need my Mom's full name?? Thanks for any guidance!

DO YOU KNOW WHAT COUNTY OR COUNTIES THE RIGHTS ARE IN? IF SO, YOU CAN GAIN THE OTHER KNOWLEDGE YOU NEED RELATIVELY INEXPENSIVELY.

HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW??? I CAN GIVE YOU A BETTER ANSWER TO THE $$$ QUESTION WITH THAT KNOWLEDGE.........OR AT LEAST A SHORTER EXPLANATION. WHAT YOU REALLY NEED IS A LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF ACREAGE INVOLVED.

Thanks for your response, John! I believe the rights are for land somewhere near Hazen; perhaps then I should start somewhere around the Recorder's Office for whatever county that falls in? I know the info you cited as being necessary to hone in on specific facts exists somewhere in my messy home office, so I likely won't be able to take the next step without first finding that documentation. Sigh. I doubt we're talking millions of dollars, but whatever the worth, I'd sure hate for it to go to bureaucrats! As to gaining info "relatively inexpensively", to what type of firm would I direct my inquiries once I lay hands on the specifics... Thanks again! So kind of you to post a reply...
