Depth Clause - Williams County at the Bakken

(For adding a depth clause) - Any suggestions as to what might be a proper depth to request on an oil and gas lease? 5-year term on a 63 net acre space.

You are probably thinking about a hard depth number which is not how they are usually worded. They are usually worded regarding a certain number of feet below a depth drilled (not good) or perforated and producing (better). Since the lease is a legal document, you should contact an attorney to help with the correct wording. The forum cannot give legal advice.

100 feet below the targeted formation is all you are going to get. You can hire an attorney and spend thousands to try and change it, but it simply won’t happen.
