Deeds & Leases

I have many, many mineral rights that I inherited from my wife.

but very few deeds or leases. how can I make this right ?

You can search various websites for copies of the deeds and leases which “should” be filed in the county courthouses. For TX, www.TexasFile.com or www.courthousedirect.com are starting websites. For OK, www.okcountyrecords.com has most of the counties. Several counties have their own websites.

Start with your probate documents and make a list of the mineral rights by State, County, township, range section for OK, or Block, Abstract, section for TX. You can make a column for Deeds, Leases, etc.

Most websites are fairly cheap or free to look and have a printing fee. Scan them and put in your files.

If you are getting royalties, you can also request copies of the deeds and leases from the operators. Some will help and some will not. Contact the Division Order department.
