Deeded Mineral Rights?

We recently sold our mineral rights in Blaine County. What I was trying to find out is when they record the new deed to the new owners, besides the legal description (Township, Section, Range, etc.), do they list the acreage that is sold? We were told one amount of acres but then told a much smaller amount right before the recording of the deed, which of course affected the sale price. I have looked on the Oklahoma County records and have the book and pages it was recorded in, but there is no information on the acreage. Any information or advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

No, generally the deed will not list the acreage sold. That is only something that can truly be found out by running title on the property.

Thank you for the information. So running title on the property is something a landman can do?

Yep, that’s exactly who you need. It’s the best place to start, and if things get tricky in the title then you can always go to an attorney later on.
