I own mineral rights on 160 acres: SE1/4 of Section 27, Township 33 North, Range 44 East Montana Meridian, in Daniels County, Montana, does anyone know who to contact regarding selling the mineral rights, and approximately what they are worth?

Mostly importantly, don’t sell, lease. See who has leased property around there, and contact them. You can either ask the other property owners, look at the oil and gas commission website for Montana to see who has permits in the area, or look at recorded leases for that county with the clerk and recorders office.

The reason I would prefer to sell the mineral rights is because I live in Alberta and the land is on Montana.

Hi Mark, I don’t know the answer to your question but I don’t seem to be getting much interest from anyone wanting to purchase the mineral rights on my property in Daniel County in Montana. Does anyone here know if Cresent Point Energy Trust is actively working in this area?

It is now April and after lots of research, it looks like there will be a lot of action in the Bakken Shale region in Montana. I have decided not to sell the mineral rights but would definitely like to lease. I’ll e mail Mark.

I have an oil, gas and mineral lease with Shale Exploration in Daniels County, Montana. The 5 year lease expires in Feb. 2017. I've tried calling the office in Texas but no on answers or returns my calls. Does anyone know if Shale will be renewing the leases in Daniel County and how long before the expiration date do they usually contact people?
