Daily Production Reports

I am new to this so forgive me if the answer to this question is obvious, but I have spent WAY too much time already searching the internet trying to find the answer. I have an interest in a well drilled in Burke County called the Carlson drilled by Petro Hunt LLC that was to come off the confidential list 11/11/2012. We have recieved no information from them yet but I would like to follow the daily production for that well. Can I find that information? Where? Also, will I be able to find out what was produced during the 6 month period it was in confidential status? Our leases (divided amongst family members) are Burke County: Section 4: SE 1/4: Township 159 North- Range 94 West. Thank you, in advance, for your help!

I wrote an article on the Home page about internet resources for mineral owners, that may be of help.

The well has only produced for roughly 2 months. 6,196 bbl in 51 days through August and September. You can access this information on the NDIC website at https://www.dmr.nd.gov/oilgas/. You would need to subscribe to the Premium Services in order to get the monthly report numbers.

Thank you so much. I will subscribe so I can find something out!!!

Thanks for the information; I will check that out.

Ms. Varenhorst, I replied to your other thread on the same subject, I even dipped into the wellfiles. While I think the NDIC $50 subscription is a good thing to have, I don't think you will glean anything of present value that I didn't already mention, but that could change. Let me know if I can help.

Whats the average production/month?

Ms. Goulden, every well is different. Some areas are more productive. Some operators open the vavle and produce the well at a higher rate and other operators choke the well back. The way the wells were completed makes a difference also, more frack stages usually leads to more production but each frack stage is expensive, fracking and completion can be half or more of the cost of the well. I have two wells in the same spacing/formation one with 24 stage frack and the other with a 2 stage frack, I can tell a difference. Wells frequently do not operate 24/7 and 30 days per month. There is no average. It has been said that Bakken wells if allowed to produce at maximum rate decline about 30% per month for the first several months but later the decline slows and from what I have seen this appears to be correct but many operators do not let their wells produce at the maximum rate and frequently the decline is less. If you have a specific area in mind I could look at the production of the wells and let you know the average production from new in that specific area, sample some wellfiles to see how the well was completed and give you my thoughts on the area. If you'd like.

Ms. Goulden, may I direct you to my answer to Ms. Varenhorst in the county group, Burke county ND, that you can find by selecting groups just below the header of this page. Two months is not a long enough period to make a reasonably close approximation of how a well is going to produce. The well may not have yet seen it's highest production. I should have noted that the NDIC subscription does not give daily production reports but does report monthly production. For daily reports, I suspect, you would have to get them from the operator, if anyone is keeping them. I hope this helps.
