Janet,

I'm a primarily a mineral owner. I became took over the management of my grandmothers assets and have since inherited a portion. I manage both immediate family assets that we have a shared interest in as well as assisting my extended family. I've spent the last few years attending NARO conventions and obtaining training from several sources, AAPL, NARO, NADOA, many books, attorney sessions, Landmen, sitting in on OCC hearings and rule making session, spending time with petroleum engineers and geologists, etc. I was also around the business a small amount growing up. I've participated in this forum and others to broaden my knowledge on the subjects that I don't get involved directly with and sharpen my skills. I'm involve deeper than most mineral owners as I work the other side of the business in some ventures. When I first started, I had many questions that I received help on here. So, I try where I can to assist others to pay it back or pay it forward depending on the applicable perspective at the time.

Connections? A few, and the list keeps growing. :)

Janet Wimsett said: WOW! When I originally said you were 'GOOD', I had no idea of just how good! You definitely know a lot more than I do. My parents' families originally settled Oklahoma a long time ago.

If you have been around - and it appears you have - the name Sketchley should ring a bell. My Dad's name was Mills - thus the Millsville Post Office site on the Roger Mills location where my aunt was the original post mistress. Being in California, I seem to have a difficult time keeping up with my interests. As a side note: our home burned a few months ago (bad story) and I really could use some income from minerals. However, no way will I ever sell. At least, I sure and heck don't intend to consider. My kids would string me up. Not a good thing to happen when you are retired and expecting to enjoy life. So, I really do appreciate tapping in to your wealth of knowledge. It is definitely helping me. I am trying to finish up on long, long lists of losses to the insurance company, so have been delinquent on all else. If you have any other pieces of information that would be helpful, stay in touch.

THANK YOU!! Janet Mills Wimsett

Apache is poking around in the area a bit. I wouldn't get in too big a hurry to lease. Almost all of the action in Roger Mills has been in the Western 1/2 of the county. There also has been some in the Township just NW of yours, but you are in the eastern part of your township.

Hello Gary. Rick Howell just e-mailed me and apparently is an adviser on this subject to a lot of people.

Do you two work together? As I told him too - I do not have funds to pay for such advise. I just do not want to make any mistakes on this subject.

Thank you for the info on Apache. I will keep that in mind. It sounds like development is slow in my area of Roger Mills. Shamrock Oil drilled a shallow well on that site (on St. Patrick's Day) many years ago but came up dry. As things have changed, I do have some hopes. The information is very much appreciated.

Janet,

I'm confused. The only interchange I have had with you has been publicly in this forum. I don't have your email address to send anything to you.

Gary and I don't work together, but I certainly would recommend him to assist you in working out a lease or other consulting services.

I sent several e-mails, but can't see that they went. Did you receive any reply?

Janet

Janet, I'm not sure who you are talking to, but you don't have any way of emailing me.

Hello Rick. Whenever I send a message on the computer, I an use to calling it an 'email'. Once again, sorry for the confusion. Thank you for your patience with me. I placed a call to Primary Natural Resources to confirm that nothing has gone wrong with my interest in the Custer County site - my little 1/5th interest. I am expecting to hear back from them this week. I'll keep in touch with you.

Sincerely,

Janet

I searched some archived records I keep and there was a drilling rig on the site from the end of January to early March.

Congratulations you have a new well! However, you need to follow up on the pooling order VERY quickly.

Hopefully you won't have to engage an attorney to get it corrected.

Depending on how many mineral acres you own might impact how you proceed. Disclosure, looking at the pooling order, I'm familiar with the attorneys that handled the pooling. In my opinion, you might be able to get the election corrected without retaining an attorney to represent you. However, limited knowledge of the business could place you in a bad situation you might regret in the future. It might be best to retain someone to assist you.

Again the risk would be relative to your ownership amount. A mistake with a 1/2 Net Mineral Acre would have much less significance as a mistake with 50 NMA.

Rick: I finally had an opportunity to review the documents you and Gary very kindly provided. I had elected the 1/5th royalty on the Pooling Order that apparently expired in February. I understand that a rig was in place before that. Sec. 5, 13N 20W. However, no lease has been offered from Primary Natural Resources. Should I contact them and ask about a lease? Also, I notice on the OCC Drilling Permit that the Cleveland formation is the only one named. Is it possible to seek a lease for other formations on that site even if Primary is currently drilling?

Also, in reviewing the Oklahoma Mineral Owners Registry, I do not see any listing for that site. If there is a well going up, shouldn't that be listed? Thanks again for all your help.

If you made an election from a pooling order there will not be a lease. They order and your election is effectively your lease. You can lease anything not currently in the pooling order. "Seeking" a lease for the other formations is possible, but not usually recommended.

My sources are outside of the Mineral Owner's Registry and I have more faith in them. But, they could be flawed.

Thank you very much. Have a Very Beautiful Easter. I will probably have more question later.

Janet

Hello Rick. I tried sending you a message on another part of this forum, but not sure you got it. I had spoken with John Helm at Primary Natural Resources and he confirmed that I do have a well on the Sec 5 13N 20W. There had been a great amount of confusion on the site which originally resulted in all this conversation. I was told to expect some information on the status of that well by this week, but am still waiting. Do you have any knowledge on what might be going on with it? I tried looking on the OCC site, but couldn't bring up anything on that site.

Janet

Search here on APO 3503922425

and here on Cause number 201402458. It looks like they filed another pooling application on 4/9/2014 that the initial hearing will be on 5/20/2014.

Rick. Would another pooling application affect the one that is currently in place? When I called Primary Natural Resources today, John was not available so I spoke with a girl there. She said the well is complete and working. That it looks like a good well - more gas possibly than oil - but the well is still in the early stages. Nothing was said about a new pooling application. Would that only affect people who possibly were not pooled before as not contacted? I will try to look up the info you provided. Once again - thank you very much.

I tried to add you as a friend. . . :-)

Janet

Rick: I went into those websites and was able to find the OCC court documents and related newspaper publications addressing the issue of unlocated persons with interest in the well. It appears that there was no necessity that Primary contact me - but I have made a call to them for confirmation that my interest is not affected. I was very glad to get the on-line forms that allow me to obtain information on the well.

You are helping me to feel not quite as much of a dunce on this subject.
