We had some acreage pooled in 2005 (6 month pooling). Well was drilled and produced from 2005 to 2023. Does that pooling order expire at the date of cessation of production or is there a given time period after cessation of production? The operator doesn’t want to give up the land (imagine that). I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and have never had an operator fail to release the minerals back to the owner. I have people who want to lease it, but say that they will have to go to court to get it released. I’m unclear on why that is even necessary since production stopped. Any help would be appreciated.
Please give the section, township and range so the pooling and the well can be looked up.
The well is the Ambassador 1-26; 26-15N-18W. We are under the NE/4 and E/2 SE/4.
