Hello all,
I am not hearing or seeing many discussions on the area of Culberson county. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. I have mineral rights in Culberson county, Can anyone tell me what the current status is for this area in regards to drilling?
regards
Tom
Depends on what part of Culberson. NE is good and active
How many NMA do you own and would you be interested in leasing or selling
mdhinsley@mac.com
I am new to all this so please specify NMA? I currently own 10 .5 acres, with all the rights sec# 48 TWP 1 T&P RY. The Tax ID specifies NW, Am I in the right area?
Are there any current maps relating to the scoop of gas and oil concentrate in that specific area? 48 TWP 1 T&P RY- BLK 59?
nma = net mineral acres
go to http://gisweb.glo.texas.gov/glomap/index for mapping - this will show wells, etc. but it will not show ownership
also
go texas rrc.com - their new mapping system has been improved
these are all free sites
Mike
Thank you. I actually knew that but had a mental block. I just check out your sites The gisweb did not come up but the rrc did. do you have a direct link to the site?
Tom
google texas general land office GIS web
the rrc map tool is vastly improved but is memory heavy
First take the video tutorial for the RRC's GIS Viewer at http://www.mineralrightsforum.com/video/texas-railroad-gis-tutorial. Note that when you go to the page for the viewer at http://www.mineralrightsforum.com/video/texas-railroad-gis-tutorial that there is an old and a new viewer - the tutorial is for the OLD viewer (which I think is easier to use than the new one). You'll be able to zoom in to the blocks and sections and see what permits/wells are there. (Be sure in the drop down menu to click on 'Identify Wells'). This can give you some info to work with before you contact the county clerk.
Culberson rig counts continue to creep up. activity is also spreading out a little.
Thank you Michael and Wade,
I took the Tutorial, I found my property. Isn't it funny how all the wells miss my property. I own 21.5 acres in Culberson, But I only have the mineral rights on 10-1/2. How can I determine which are mine, And other than oil, are there many other profitable minerals being extracted?
Thanks Tom
Thomas-
You have to know where in the particular section your minerals are located.
Although gas is back up to $5.00, still very little gas drilling. Not sure about hard minerals, if that is what you were asking about.
go to texas county clerk website - you have to pay a small fee but you can pull up your court records from that site.
