Coterra and Devon Energy are expected to merge 1st week of February 2026. They both have major footprints in the Western Delaware Basin. What does this mean potentially for surface only landowers in this area? Your opinions are appreciated!

I was watching that closely. That’s going to be huge for the Delaware Basin!!!
Devon Energy is currently facing multiple lawsuits, primarily regarding allegations of underpaid oil and gas royalties to landowners.
Not too worried about that. That will get worked out. They have invested 58 billion into the Delaware Basin. That tells us all we need to know about their commitment and they know something because there is no way they would invest that if they didn’t know there is an oil and gas gold mine in the Delaware basin. It is expected to be approved in the 2nd quarter of 2026. End of July at the latest. I think it’s time to buckle up ladies and gents. This is going to be a rollercoaster once that merger officially goes through! Yeeee hawwwww!
