Hi, this is all new to me.
I finally received a royalty check from Continental Resources for mineral rights in Billings County, North Dakota. I had to have a probate done in North Dakota in order to prove to Continental Resources that I am an owner even though I had a 3-year lease with them (go figure that one out??). Trying to figure out how to read the check statement. Is there anyone that is familiar with their statement that can explain how to interpret it? My lease is for 20% royalty. I am leased by production. How do I know if I am being paid my 20% royalty? I see on my statement (DISB. DEC. 0.00195312) I am not sure what this means.
I was not sent a distribution order or tax form to sign W9 for non-resident tax to be taken out. I am a Florida resident. Should they have sent me a distribution order to sign or because I had a lease with them and I am leased by production change things? I think it is a North Dakota non-resident tax. I am not sure what that % is?
Is Continental Resources responsible for taking out the non-resident tax from my royalty check?
I am sorry for all the questions! Would appreciate any answers to the above questions.
