Comstock recorded 18 new lease memos in Freestone County on July 17, covering 3,980 gross acres in Freestone and Leon Counties:
Freestone: 2,848 acres

Although Comstock acquired a substantial HBP lease position in Freestone County via their acquisition from Legacy Reserves, these are the first leases that Comstock has written in the county. This new leasing is an extension of their Western Haynesville play (the name Comstock uses), although the primary target appears to be Lower Bossier.

Based on documents filed to date, this brings Comstock’s total leasehold in Robertson, Leon, and Freestone to more than 150,000 gross acres plus the gross equivalent of the 60,000 net acres that they acquired from Legacy Reserves.
