Hello Everyone,
I am a complete neophyte when it comes to the subject of mineral rights. I am hoping that someone reading this wouldn’t mind giving me some basic information.
I inherited the mineral rights to an area in Pauls Valley, Garvin County, and I don’t know where to begin to know if it has any value, with whom to speak about the property, what activity is present in that area, etc.
If someone reading this would be kind enough to help me, I’d greatly appreciate it. I do have a copy of the original deed, with the exact location, so I hope that helps.
Thank you, in advance.
Deborah
Deborah,
If you will supply the Section, Township and Range I'm sure some of the Forum Members will be more than happy to help you and let you know what activity or production is in the area. And Welcome to Mineral Rights Forum.
Clint Liles

Thank you so much, Clint! I really appreciate your quick response.
Okay…the information I have about the location is the following:
It’s "The Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 29, and the East Half of Southeast Quarter of Southeast Quarter of Section 30, Township 3 North, Range 1 East of I.B.M. "
That’s the location. If anyone has any information about this, I’d greatly appreciate the education.
Thank you all so much.
Deborah
Deborah,
The Pauls Valley Airport is in Section 29 and there is some production there. Across the road in Section 30 there is also some production. I do not know the spacing for the wells?
I would go to the Oklahoma State Treasurer website and check unclaimed property for Garvin County.

Thank you for the suggestion, Tom. I placed a call to the Oklahoma State Treasurer’s office, and I’m waiting for a response.
I wish I knew more about the area, but I am very grateful for your information.
Anything helps!
Deborah, just go to their web site (link below) and try all the names of whom the interest may have been owned by or name was on title, husband then wife and search your name, your relatives names. Contact the state if you find someone they are holding money for from your search. All you need to do a search is last name but you can narrow it down if there are too many say Smith's. Also look at or search by initials as many men use to go by their initials like A. J. Smith.
