Chesapeake Energy announced this week it is selling their interests in the Eagle Ford. Any thoughts as to who might be a likely suitor? I receive royalties from them on some interests in LaSalle County. Wondering if this is a good thing, bad thing or just nothing to be concerned about. TIA.

Good question - Callon operates a lot of wells near there, or it could be an outsider that want’s to buy into the Eagle Ford??
We work for a lot of mineral owners and it seems there could be a number of “bad things” that impact your royalty payments when wells change hands. Be sure and check that your payment decimals are the same before and after, and that you’re getting paid on all the products, and the new operator honors any free royalty clauses or other conditions relevant to your leases.
