Changing contact address?

My siblings and cousins inherited mineral rights in seven counties in Oklahoma. Recently, my siblings let me know that I have been missed in several leasing situations. I no longer live at the address that was listed in the trust document that conveyed these rights.

Is there a way for me to record a document or something that would make my current address “visible” to landmen looking for me? This has happened twice in Hughes County.

File a notarized change of address affidavit with the county clerk’s office in each county you own minerals. Include a legal description of your mineral locations. There is a filing fee, call to find out the amount. In a couple of counties I have paid $13 plus $2 for each additional page. Change of Address probably only one page.

Thanks Michael! I’ll check with the county clerks on this. Appreciate it!

You could also join Oklahoma Mineral Owners Registry. It costs $35.00 a year and they work with landmen to locate owners.
