Change of Operator

I inherited a royalty interest in mineral rights in Crockett County, TX a few years ago. Apparently in December 2024 the operator, Epic Permian, was replaced by Scout Energy Partners out of Dallas. When I contacted them, they said they were having a hard time locating my account. After I sent them my documentation, they keep telling me that accounting is working as hard as they can to download all the information and I should be patient. Has anyone else had this experience? I haven’t received a royalty check in several months.

Even when working with properties where Scout has been the operator for years, they are very slow to respond. Be persistent with follow-up emails on a regular basis. Maintain an email thread for reference.

Thanks so much. Yeah, I’ve been emailing them weekly and getting the same response that accounting is working as hard as they can to get all the info downloaded. Will continue to be persistent.

Send them requests via certified mail, has gotten a faster response in my experience. Make sure and notate that your request falls under the Texas Natural Resources Code for good measure.

It shouldn’t be this way, but sometimes letters from an attorney gets quicker responses. If your interest is significant seek out a Texas attorney’s assistance.
