Change of Operator paperwork

Just confirmed with Contango that they sold my wells in Logan County Oklahoma to Great Horned Owls, LLC. So it is legit. I am submitting a letter in lieu instead of signing the division orders. Under Oklahoma law, I do not have to sign division orders simply because a new operator takes over. Having said that, I am also rewriting the ACH authorization so that they cannot “claw back” funds as M. Barnes put it. Thanks everyone.

Hi everyone I also received the GHO -D.O’s for Cantango. The Deed covers Lot’s 1 & 2 and the S/2 of NE/4 of section 1- 18N-2E - Payne Co.. Mine were for the Katz West, Clary , (2) Woodall Exchange Wells .The R. I. appears correct and they say there are no amendments. I do see the ACH wording- good call. Originally, I received D.O.'s from American Energy after pooling ( was before I inherited the M.I.'s)-, then eventually to Contango during which I received a Class Action lawsuit settlement ~11/24. So I to am unsure about the subsequent payments/ accounting. The only payments since are on the Woodall wells. I tried looking up the status/ production of the Katz & Clary wells on this site’s GIS link, also, the OCC and Tax commission and finally gave up. Questions: 1. Where can I find well production histories in OK ?. If , Katz & Clary are shut down, with past pooling orders how do i know the parameters [ depth, expiration, area covered and hence additional wells…]. 3. Or since I do not have a lease are the D.O’s likely ok and just sign and move on…? THANKS!

Those wells have to be looked up by their surface locations which are not in Sec 1.

Katz West 1-18-2E 1WH (SL in 18N-3E-6 BHL in 18N-2E-1) Completion 9/12/14. Last production Dec 2025. Crescent Energy originally, then Contango, now Great Horned Owls? Current Status Active. 3511924249. You should be getting paid on this one.

Have you tried looking for the lease on www.okcountyrecords.com?

THANKS for your help! So I locate the surface and not the bottom hole to find the production report -hence my problem. Thinking the the payments must be low $100 so that is why I have not seen recent payments. I tried calling again and both times LM… Good advice on OK Co. Records . Is there a best way to search Payne ? STR, lease name, …

You can search the well status on the OCC well records site. The most recent production on the OK Tax Site.

EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you, Blake

Thank you

Nancy,

You lease may have run out. Check and see when was the last time you receided a check, then check to see if it’s abandond or capped. They are sending division order to everyone even if they don’t have a lease. I emailed the, sent a certified letter and never heard back. They are holding our oil checks this way.

I also received a DO from GHO and I signed the ACH. Am I in jeopardy by doing so? I started with Superior Oil & Gas in 2013, then Devon Energy, then WhiteStar, then Contango, and now Great Horned Owls. I never recouped my original investment, and Contango suspended payments to me in September 2024. This has been nothing but trouble. I recently retired and I have mistrust with these operators. I’ve received no response from my inquiries to GHO. Can I get out of this investment? Who do I contact?

if you want to give the well name, then we can tell you if it is still online.
