Carter County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Hello Daniel ~ just wanted to tell you and Rick, thanks for the information, it helped me make a decision on sighing the oil and gas lease. My family and I decided not to sign that lease, we will wait and see what happens. Thank you again.

Since I didn’t know what was going on I didn’t want to say anything about the Sec. 30, 3S 3E well but I’ve seen similar in LeFlore County where they were just waiting for equipment to come in to reclaim the site. Maybe they got a bad dogleg right off the bat & that caused them to quit drilling. I am so sorry, Daniel. Maybe they’ll still drill on ya, just in a different spot.

The Love County well was in 6S 1E, on Oswalt Road, just W. of Lake Murray & I-35. The prospect was generated by the Biddick Family in Ardmore and they brought L.E. Jones into the deal. It was a Pennsylvanian/Hunton prospect and my lease reserved the Woodford Shale rights.

That was the first one. That’s 4 miles north of me. XTO was going to drill a horizontal well there. The woodford is about 13,000 feet down, so they didn’t get much pass the spud hole. I think it is going to be a scheduling issue.

Look at this image of where the wells from section 19 to 18 will be drilled. I thnk that is what they are going to do in section.

Linda, I’m no genius - my husband has interests very near there.

Linda,

Look at the PDF file below. It shows the 4 wells in section 18 and section 17 is the Ardmore Airport.

Daniel, WHEW! I thought it was your section 30.

Linda, It’s just South of Fox, I think probably around the 53/76 hwy intersesctions.

Thanks Ann…I know where that is! I was born when my parents lived in the Phillips camp housing at Clemscott. Dad’s folks have always lived north of Healdton and kids went to school at Fox. So that makes sense that that’s where my cousin’s dad had his royalty that now belongs to them. It would be nice to be able to figure out those locations as well as you and some of these others on here. Maybe if I hang in and listen long enough I’ll learn how.

Still doesn’t make much sense, Daniel, at just 2,400’. Are there any recent dry holes in the vacinity that may have scared them off?

Can anyone tell me where those Melton Wells would be in conjuntion to say Ardmore, Fox or Healdton? My cousin said she has some Royalty over east of Fox somewhere (records show it’s held by production but she has not talked about any drilling on her (of course she might not~she’s a very private person. But her maiden name was Melton and it was her dad that gave the kids all the royalty before his death. Just curious if they might be on hers. Would be glad to hear if it were her good fortune! Anyone?

Oh yeah, Daniel I guess that too far South and East of her. Just looked back at her description its: Sec. 26 2s 3w n2 SE and Sec. 26 2s 3w E2 swe. That’s a little different description than I’m used to. I believe Hutch or someone told me before it was HBP so when I saw all those Melton wells I was hoping it might be on them. Guess not!

Linda, 26, 2S 3W is part of the old Graham Deese Unit.

Ann, I was just thinking that I should have called the OCC Disctrict 3 office for information about Section 30 3S 3E instead of bother you. Sometimes it just takes awhile figure things out.

Daniel, it wasn’t a problem. We all help each other on this & NARO’s message boards. Besides that, it was a nice day for a drive.

Does anyone know when XTO drilled thier first horizontal well in Eastern Carter Co.? I am thnking it was early 2010 or late 2009.

That a pretty good one. It is producing with a 40/64 choke.

Thanks Rick,

Looks like I missed it by about 6 months.
