Carter County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Thanks again!

Thanks for your counsel.

Kelly: Not sure who is best to call on salt water damage, but there is an oil and gas complaint link at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission website which I imagine is a good place to start. It also has a phone number to call.

Jim, the could use that pad to drill 7 & 8 if it is big enough. It may be a while though. They like to drill one well in each section so they can save the section by production. It takes an incredible number of trucks to do the fracking, so space is a premium.

Geology is a factor as well. Not sure what is in 7 and 8, so….They drilled from 4 north and then from the same pad south into 9 right next door to you. That is a good sign for you.

Also if the Bureau of Indian Affairs is involved, their permitting is WAY behind schedule. Time will tell. Good luck.

I wonder if Dennis could spare a guy $1.75 for a cup of Starbucks coffee?

WOW! I hope he has a professional advisor.

Barnes and Howell:

Rick you were right my Township numbering on my township format was one off!

I have been reading historical comments and surmise the OCC drilling permit you sent for Sec 5 4S 2E where it stated “Well No: 15H6” means they will be drilling Section 6 from the same pad. Being the pad is located in the extreme SW 1/4 corner of Sec 5 4S 2E it means if the XTO wells are successful they will subsequently in the future use the same well pad for drilling Sec 8 & Sec 7 5S 2E? Thus the reason they have not pooled our SW 1/4 of Sec 8 5S 2E. Appreciate comments.

Thanks,

Jim G

As of July 24 they were fracking 28-29-33. Then they will shut in the Dubiel and Indian Hills while they frack 5-6. 33 3S 2E Danny and the Dubel are mine. Don’t buy that new car based on the info I have. Lol

Anyone here about the ‘fix’ CLR has run into in North Dakota? Seems the State wants payment/taxes for the gas that has been flared.

Do mineral owners have a case here? Seems to me it could go either way.

It should take about 2 weeks more or less on each well depending on any problems. XTO shuts in wells in the area of any fracking operations. Safety issue. You should notice the shut-in on your October royalty check, a little sooner or later.

Ron, how do you know that the Dubiel and Indian Hills will be shut in?

My brother and I have a friend who lives within a half mile or so of all those pads. He visits with the company man and learns what is going on. If you have an interest in Dubeil or Indian Hills your check will be noticeably smaller in Oct or so. If you have interests in 28-29 or 33 they will frac all three before producing any of the three.

Thanks Ron - We do have interest in Dubiel and Indian Hills. They haven’t been producing for very long so I’m surprised that they are shutting them in - is it a safety issue? Do you know how long it might take to frack the other areas before they reopen Dubiel and Indian Hills again? One of these days I will get the hang of the terminology and processes of mineral rights - in the meantime, this forum is a great help

One more thing - does anyone know of a mineral rights/ownership lawyer who can help with probating a will in Carter County?

XTO Landman told me that the Gene 1-9H4X (4-3S-2E) was going to spud September 10, 2014.
