Carter County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Patrica,

The well name is LUCAS #1. Seems I missed the #1 last time.

Patricia,

We leased our interest in Section 14 and 23, Township 5S, Range 3W last month to Jack B Smith.

Citation Oil Co. seems to be moving forward in my area.

Thanks Daniel. I think that one is going into another Section but could be wrong.

DANIEL I just talked to my brother and we think they will skid the Felderhoff over and drill the Dubel rather than going to the expense of moving one rig out and another in.

Ronald,

XTO has the Felderhoff 30 rig on your pad drilling the INDIAN HILLS 1 4H9 well. Spud date looks like 2/27/2013.

Found out today that XTO had shun-in the HOBBS 1-30H well in December to install a GAS LIFT. Seems there are too much fluids in the well and not enough pressure.

Bob Titley… did you mean Section 9 - 5 South - 3 West in Carter County on your post?

Ronald,

You’re correct, it is going from Section 4 to Section 9, so the SHL should be at the south end of the pad, the permit will have the distance from the south line (FSL).

Patricia,

Some good news. A drilling permit was issued for 18 4S 1W. Yes, I know that is some distance from you, but it is in the right direction.

Also, there have been leases all around Section 9, except in Section 4.

Been in the oilfield most of my adult life and just learned something new. I was talking about skid the rig, went to Felderhoff’s site and they have what is called “Walking substructure” rigs. I couldn’t find any information on Felderhoff 30 but will research more later.

Daniel, that sounds like a good way to slow those complaining about fracking. Hope it works out.

Patricia.. yes.. fat fingers going too fast… 5S-3W

Ronald,

Cactus Drilling, out of OKC, manufactures a WALKER that can move about 12" for each move, in any direction. These are used on multi-well pads.

There is a video, but it is difficult to view.

That’s interesting! Thanks for posting, Clint.

I researched the walking substructure and discovered it is similar to how they move those huge coal earth movers. Technology is passing me by.

We used to skid them with a couple or four caterpillars.

That should read, “a couple of days ago that…”

Ronald,

My wife told me a couple that companies are looking for ways to frac with salt water that are already in the well.

I think this is why my well was shut-in and they installed a GAS LIFT.
