Gracie, I have the same (custody transfer) string of operators. Anadarko, EXCO and Sheridan in 28, 4N 4W. Do you mind telling us what section and township you have? Also, how were you informed that Continental was involved with your lease?
Ok, I learned about the Sheridan, Continental agreement here also. Maybe from Ron. I have not read what was filed at the courthouse between the two yet but I did determine that my acreage is included.
Oil & Gas Clearinghouse on Dec 12 will be taking bids for the Holder A 2-31 in 31 5N, 5W for a .030835 Net revenue Interest in a Sheridan well.
Also, Sheridan showed up in Intent to Drill the Holder A 3-31 to a depth of 16,600’ in 31 5N, 5W.
Does anyone know what the terminology would be in a lease which states the depth that the lessor (or driller) can go down (is there a limit?). I am looking at my lease from 1991, for Grady County. Does this old lease cover the depths they will go down to recover the oil from the shale formations?
Just asking…
Thanks
Gracie
Daniel,
Thanks. Don’t see anything about the depth. Too bad.
When the lease changes hands, as in my case it went from Anadarko to Exco, then to Sheridan, and now Continental, is the lessee supposed to be notified? I found out on this web site. How is it possible for Sheridan to keep the producing well and sell the lower formation to Continental? Sounds like they are selling the same thing twice and I, the owner, am not benefiting.
Thanks
Gracie
Gracie They are not selling they are leasing and you will benefit . They are two different wells Sheridan has the old one and Continental will have the new one and you will have the same interest under both and any others that are drilled.
How can I find out the date of first sale on the Birds Nest 1-6H in Blaine County 6-14N-11W? I haven’t been successful contacting Devon about it. Thank you.
Ron,
I appreciate your help. Now I have to figure out how many months they owe interest for.
Lynden
I found out about the interest in Woodford shale on this forum. I have not spoken with Continental. I contacted Sheridan and was told that Continental is now involved in the lease. Sheridan is still sending me a small check for the well at this loction. The location - Section 10,5N,5W. At this point I am just being hopeful.

Here are some wells close to you.
You still own the mineral rights, I think you will get paid if Continental finds anything.
The real reason, in my opinon, is to allow the mineral owner to get a better lease for the deeper formations now that you have seen all the info on leases since your first lease. I sure wish I knew back when I signed my lease what I know now.
They owe you 12% interest (by law) from the first date of sale.
Angela,
Try this website, it’s Devon’s royalty owners site.
