Cana Woodford Shale (AKA Anadarko Woodford) - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Thank you Daniel, just waiting for them to come south to 11 north

Hwy 37 divides your property, correct? If you know how to use GOOGLE EARTH, it’s free to download, you can see your property and the wells to the West of you, maybe 4 or 5 township to the West.

Has anyone heard of Mountain Front Resources had offer to buy in section 35 11n 09w. Wondering if they acquiring for certain company.

That is what I think. My father-in-law was a wise man and told me ne er to sell minerals. They offered 3250/inmates or higher if I have received a better offer. Going to set back and wait it out. Johnson wrote this offer and their is a David Johnson that runs Zephyr operating, wonder if related?

What county are you in. How many acres do they want to buy? I’ll look at the activity around you and see whats happening.

Looks like you are in Canadian County. There has been 134 drilling permits since the first of the year, with 21 drilling permits in May.

There where two permits for Section 35, one for 12N 8W and 12N 10W.

Devon seems to be active in the area.

There have been 8 completed well since the first of the year in sections

3 ,4, 8, 16, 19, 20, and 24.

Thanks Lynden, Thats pretty good, I checked and found the wellhead price was 2.89 in Jan. 2012.

In January for a btu factor of 1.3 I got $5.40. If memory serves me, you can multiply either the volume or the price by the btu factor and arrive at the same answer.

Been to the property many times and yes HWY 37 divides 34/35. Cimarex had a cause 201101926 but continental protested and Cimarex cancelled drill OCC has nothing on why continental protested, it was decided between parties prior to protest date.

The Thurman Horn 406H well in the Hogshooter formation produced 5,400 barrels of crude a day during its first eight days of operation, Chesapeake said today in a statement. The output was more than twice that of some of the best performing wells in the Eagle Ford shale of south Texas

Google “HOGSHOOTER FORMATION” and you can see the area covered by this play as well as the sweet spot.

Thurman Horn well AVERAGED 5,400 bpd for the first eight days.

What does “location exception” mean when listed on Occ list of meeting on its docket? And how many BTUs does gas have to have before it is considered good? No idea how any of gas process works.

Tim, Location exception is necessary when a well cannot be placed within in the area set by OCC rules which prescribe certain setbacks fom section lines etc. It is very common with the horizontal drilling going on right now. The operators usually place the wells as to take full advantage of the formations and to allow room for additional wells within the same section.

Standard “dry gas” is 1025btu, 1200-1440 is good, sometimes called “wet gas”.

Thank you Michael for such a speedy reply!! This was order number 597918 and interim order was 582180… I am certainly happy with what I have…no need to get greedy…

Michael, yes that makes 5 wells in that section for us plus another well in another section completed in 2010… I have royalty on approx 30 mineral acres in each section thanks to my grandpa…what was nice about these 5 new wells was that we got our first check in just 4 months after production probably because most of the mineral owners were the same…good luck on your well production…I read up on the Stephens site now and then…nice to have Linda’s eyes on what’s happening there I bet.

Thanks Micheael. We had a well drilled at the first of the year and has been fracked and noticed this on the OCC site that there is a meeting about this Location exception. Would this mean a location for another well?

Cheryl, Each order has a seperate case#. The first one was in 2009. In 2011 there were 4 cases with consecutive numbers. They had interim orders that became final orders in Feb. 2012. The one order I read referred to the other 3 as companion causes. There is nothing on the OCC docket that indicates 4 more wells have been applied. Hope this helps.

Tim, Without seeing the docket I would have to guess that the well was drilled under an interim order and now the hearings are being held to finalize the order. If you would like I can look it up by section, township and range to make sure.
