oil company not producing, can i force them to plug the well?

The state should have pretty clear rules on when a well has to be TA’d and then PA’d. I’m sure I knew them at one point, but too many cervezas since. Pretty sure you get a 90 day clock (from the time a well goes inactive) as operator which you can extend through TA status or through hearing/special dispensation from the NMOCD. But in theory regulatory wheels should be in motion if the well is inactive for a period of months.
Contact the oil company, tell them you are contacting the NMOCD w.r.t. an inactive well on your property and would like to know what their plans are. Shrug.

what type of interest do you have? Is it an override?
