Caddo county mineral rights

My name is Bryce and just had paperwork from Devon on a well with mineral rights I’ve had for along time from my grandfather. He has passed in 2021. Devon sent me paper work on a lawsuit from 2023. I’m trying to access the rights for my mineral rights and can’t find them.

Welcome to the forum. Do you have a case number on the top of the paperwork? Is will start with 2023-00xxxx. We can give you better information if you share the case number or the section, township and range. Did you inherit from your grandfather? Was his probate filed in Oklahoma or another state?

I am still new to this whole thing about owning mineral rights but have learned alot from this great community. Although I still have a lot to learn. The mineral rights I own are in 20-08N-10W. From the paperwork I received they’re drilling 2 horizontal wells. Is that correct? I have been receiving some buy and many lease offers over the last 2-3 months including Melbourne and Cotera who I believe are the end operators. I have received options with different cash bonuses all over the place and royalty interests ranging from 1/8 upto 1/4. Definitely going with the highest 1/4 royalty. I’m just not sure if $800 cash bonus per NMA for 1/4 royalty is low or a fair offer. What are others are being offered for this area??? Also, I believe there was a pooling hearing 12/22 but can’t seem to find any info on it and what was determined. Any hearing info and additional and addition ifno as to what happens next is appreciated. From what I’ve read, does a pooling order come next after the hearing? If so, how long does that take to be issued? Is that when the 20 day countdown starts to make a decision or be forced pooled? Should I wait for the order or should I sign a lease before then. I will definitely have the lease reviewed by a lawyer before signing anything to make sure all the necessary lease clauses are there. Thanks again for any advice!

Mewbourne has filed for a well in 17/20-8N-10W. Case 2025-003576. The placement of the first well so far to the west side of the section leaves room for future infill wells.

Mewbourne filed the pooling, so they are probably going to be the operator. Case is 2025-003902,You can find the progress on the case using the Electronic Filing System website at the OCC. Electronic Case Filing Use the Case document Search option and type in the case number with the dash and the leading zeroes. Ping it every few days to watch for the order.

At this point, if you do have an attorney, get busy on getting a good lease without post production charges and a whole host of other clauses that you need. You do not have much time. If not, then just wait for the pooling order and pick the highest royalty. I do not sweat the bonus as it is only a one time payment and the judge will determine what if will be based upon the testimony at the hearing. The order can come out a few days to a few weeks to a few months after the hearing. Check the case often to not miss it. You only have 20 calendar days in which to answer the order. The clock starts ticking the day the order is signed, not the day you get it. Send a response by certified mail so that you have a record. If you need a template letter, I can post one.

You can either lease or pool. You cannot do both.

Here is an example of a pooling response. The items in red need to be matched to the exact case and order and information within the order. Replace them with the correct information and then turn black. Send Certified Mail return receipt and keep a copy for your records. Set a tickler on your calendar for when the bonus check should be received.
